Mennonte Economic Development Associates (MEDA) is an international economic development organization that aims to create business solutions to poverty. One of her projects, the Nigeria WAY Project, a five-year project funded by Global Affairs Canada, aims to increase the contribution of 16,000 women and youth to Nigeria’s economic growth.
Challenge:
Nigeria WAY seeks the services of a video documentary producer who will tell the exciting stories of the women and groups that purchased Eco Cookstove, Eco Parboiler, False Bottom, and Lid Technology. The goal is to build a market share and show the benefits of adopting these products based on women’s responses to their benefits.
Solution/Activities
Aries Concept was engaged to produce a 10 mins documentary for each of the technologies; Aries team travelled to Bauchi State to shoot and produce:
- 10 minutes documentary on eco parboilers drawing on the successful experience of the 13 cooperatives that purchased parboilers in Dass, Bauchi, Katagum, Jama’are, Toro, Ganjuwa and Warji
- 10 minutes documentary on eco-stoves. drawing on the successful experience of the women who purchased them and are even seeking the larger sizes in Dass, Bauchi, Katagum, Jama’are, Toro, Ganjuwa and Warji.
- A 10-minute documentary on False bottom and lid technology for improved rice parboiling, drawing on the successful experience of the women who purchased them after training in Dass, Bauchi, Katagum, Jama’are, Toro, Ganjuwa, and Warji.
Result
The videos have showcased these women’s responsive and environmentally sustainable technologies, increasing their market share.
